June's spirit living on as catalyst for change

Towards a world where social and environmental pioneers can tackle difficult issues with confidence

The June Canavan Foundation continues the humanitarian work undertaken by June during her life.

We offer grants, loans and mixed funding to organisations which support our mission of June’s spirit living on as a catalyst for change.

The June Canavan Foundation Impact Framework 2021 -2031 was developed at the halfway point of our Foundation’s 20 year life.

It builds on what we have learned during our first 10 years.

While retaining many of the elements which worked well for us in our 2010-2020 JCF Giving Framework, our new impact Framework sharpens our focus on maximising our impact across both our grant-making and investment strategies and activities.

Dr June Canavan and the Foundation

The June Canavan Foundation was established in 2010 to honour the memory of Dr June Canavan. The Foundation is creating a legacy which builds on June’s humanitarian work.

It provides financial and other support to existing projects in five areas close to June’s heart:

"Breaking Ground,

Breaking Barriers"

Our purpose

June’s spirit living on as a catalyst for change.

Our vision

A world where social and environmental pioneers can tackle difficult issues with confidence.

Our values

Our role

To back ideas and initiatives that are catalytic, game-changing or paradigm shifting, which will have a ripple effect and legacy beyond the life of the JCF.

We do this through our grants, our investments, and by encouraging collaboration.

We support bold, risky, new ideas.

We support causes which June cared about in communities that were significant in her life, including Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, North East Victoria, Papua New Guinea and East Africa.
