Funding

General Giving Guidelines

The June Canavan Foundation was established in 2010 to honour the life of Dr June Canavan and to ensure that June’s humanitarian ethos lives on.

The Foundation has established an Impact Framework which describes how we prioritise and allocate the distribution of Foundation funds. You are required to review the June Canavan Foundation Impact Framework 2021 – 2031 before proceeding with an application.

Distribution for funding and donations will be made twice yearly in accordance with the Foundation’s grantmaking process.

You can read about the projects that have been funded recently by looking at our successful recipients webpage. You can also get an idea about what else the June Canavan Foundation is involved with by reading past Newsletters.
Who is eligible to apply for a grant?

The June Canavan Foundation has been established as a Private Ancillary Fund, which means that we can only distribute money to organisations that are endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as having Item 1 Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and Tax Concession Charity status.

We are unable to fund individuals.

There is no set grant size, however our distributions include small grants and donations (generally $1,000-$20,000) and large grants (generally $20,000-$50,000). Favourable consideration will be given to funding multi-year proposals with annual review.

Supporting causes so June’s spirit lives on as a catalyst for change.

We offer funding to organisations that align with the work undertaken by June during her life.
